Day 5: Best Sleep Yet, BP Dropping & Back to the Shop

Day 5: Best Sleep Yet, BP Dropping & Back to the Shop

Morning Update

Had an AMAZING night of sleep last night!  I don't even think I got up to pee.  Crashed out around 11:30PM after reading my book.  No milk or snack tonight.  Fell asleep quickly and slept solid until about 08:00AM.  Fantastic!

My morning blood pressure reading came in at 142/86! Still showing as Stage 2 Hypertension but still dropping and getting closer to normal.  Very stoked about this.

Morning weigh-in with no shoes, but a tummy full of breakfast: 241.2.

We have a few activities planned for today.  I haven't been in the shop in more than a week.  Over the last few days, I've had nothing but stress and irritation over my absence from the shop.  Yesterday was such a good day, and I'm feeling so good this morning, I'm anxious and excited to get back to work.  So, today we're going to bump up the activity just a little bit:  need to collect the trashcans from the road, move a lumber delivery from the house to the shop, grill some chicken on the Weber for lunch, and maybe fill up a few bird feeders.

Evening Update

I did pretty good outside today.  I didn't get winded immediately, which, if you haven't been around me regularly for the last 3 months, you really can't picture just how quickly I've been getting winded.  The last 2 days of activity have been very different.  I did pretty good gathering the trash cans, turning them upside down to empty rainwater, gathering the bird and squirrel feeders and a few other light tasks.  I had 2 boxes of wood from Woodworker's Source delivered last week.  They were in the house because I wasn't in the shop when the FedEx driver arrived, so he put them on the front porch.  I wanted to have them in the shop for Monday morning, so for our last task of the day we put our Ranger as close to the front door as possible to load them up.  Normally there are as many as 6-8 boxes of wood, each weighing 50-75 pounds, and normally I carry them all inside the shop myself.  This time I thought it might be a good idea to ask my wife to help me move them.  After carrying both boxes a short distance together, I was starting to get pretty well winded.  So, we put the Ranger away for the night and called it quits on physical activity today.  Tomorrow morning I'll drive the Ranger to the shop and unload and unpack the wood.

It's been more than a week since I've been in the shop.  I don't know how tomorrow is going to go.  Sometimes it's really hard to get back in the groove when the groove has been broken for as long as it has.  I'm looking forward to it, though.

Evening BP reading: 143/82

Much 💙 from the shop.
