Today was my first day back in the shop since July 2nd.
Had another great night's sleep, no breathing issues, no falling asleep issues, no waking up in the middle of the night and short of breath and unable to go back to sleep. I'm waking up feeling rested and ready to go.
It was a good day. I found several unfinished items on the workbench, items I forgot about after getting into the holiday and the whole heart nonsense situation. It felt good to get those wrapped up and off to the finishing department. I have to regroup and come up with a new plan of attack, but I wanted to carve something right away, and we just got a fresh load of Roasted Ash, so I made a couple of new serving boards. Those will get sanded tomorrow and then off to the finishing department for butcher block oil.
Moving around today was "easier." I feel a little "lighter" overall. My chest and body feel less tight and more relaxed. I'm not breathing heavy, or even having shortness of breath, with normal movement — walking, bending over to pick up things, getting up from the office chair, those sorts of things. I did feel some fatigue coming on while I carried the 2 60-pound boxes of wood into the shop. I think we're just getting started on this. I think once we've gotten my blood pressure into, or close to, the normal range I'll need to start doing some light cardio to rebuild strength and endurance. I'll start with going for a casual 15-minute walk on the property and work my way up from there. Not right away though — I don't want to jump the gun and send my heart/body into a crisis.
Tomorrow, I hope to be up and at it earlier than today and hope to have another good day of production.
BP at the end of the day was 130/77 — my first "normal" reading since we bought the at-home blood pressure machine for my wife in 2020.
Much 💙 from the shop.
